Rome has soo many amazing restaurants that it is difficult to narrow down where to go.  Especially where to go with a toddler.  We had two desperate moments where we just needed to find somewhere, right. this. second. and one of those times resulted in a pretty terrible restaurant, while the other resulted in such a treasure.  The only other not so good restaurant we went to came from a recommendation from our concierge which was a real head scratcher.  But all other meals were incredible.  Funny enough the nicer the restaurant, the more welcoming they were to a bambino.  The first day we were there I took a quick nap and JB went to eat with Tuck and the waitress played with Tuck the whole time JB was eating.  So crazy sweet to me.  I’ve said it before but Italy is in love with babies, and it’s the most endearing thing to this mama.  

I digress …  here are our favorites!

Peppone – sooo good and the owner walked tuck all around the restaurant showing him off, and played choo choo’s.  It’s michelin rated as well.  Incredible service, all babysitting services aside (:  

Cul De Sac – We love this little dive outside of Piazza Navona.  We ate here our last time in Roma, and had to return.  Great cheese and meat plates and their lasagna, holy moly, i want some right now.  

Domiziano – We had amazing pizza and pana cotta here.  Service was great here too.  The waiter kept calling Tuck a “princessa” lol.  Must be the blonde locks (:

L’archelogia – in the catacombs.  This is where we had an eight course meal on new years eve.  So delicious and amazing service as well.  Tucks “kids meal” was incredible too- as in I was a little jealous (; !  We also were only able to have eight courses with an almost two year old because this was a meal we had with JB’s company and many of the wife’s but especially one sweet lady took to Tuck and would play with him so we could eat each course.  

Ristorante Abruzzi – such delicious risotto!  They also cut the proscuitto right off at your table.  It’s soooo good.  

How tuck stayed busy when we were waiting on food and pana cotta (:

 Of course trucks and trains were a huge hit, as well as this little magnet set + bread.

The sipsnap is now my favorite sippy contraption to ever hit the sippy cup market.  

We used it on every cup or wine glass (: everywhere we went and no spills!  Plus, so easy to clean.

We stayed at the Westin Excelsior which was beautiful and the staff so accomodating.

I would probably airbnb if we were doing it on our own dime but this was through JB’s company so we were happily at their mercy in picking.  I did find this one through airbnb when I was looking for friends that looks perfectly situated and great for a small fam.  Plus we initially thought we’d extend in Florence for a bit so I found these that all look great in case anyone is looking!  Staying in airbnb’s is definitely one of my favorite ways to sleep while traveling BUT room service, complimentary coffee and tea service, and having your room straightened night and day sometimes cannot be beat.
