One of my favorite brands to wear is Julia Amory. There’s just something about their pieces that I can’t get enough of — the styles are classic yet current, and the fabrics are the best (especially the silk dupioni!).
My girlfriend and I wear this brand so often that we joke our pieces are like Pokémon cards — we’ve built quite the collection! We even have to check in with each other before meeting up to make sure we’re not accidentally twinning.
Clearly, I love Julia Amory, and today I’m excited to share what makes this brand so special. Anytime I feature their pieces in vacation packing guides, best-seller lists, or Instagram Stories, I get a ton of questions about sizing, ordering, and more. So in this post, I’ll be covering all of that too. Whether you’re eyeing your first JA piece or looking to grow your collection, keep reading for all the details!
About Julia Amory
In 2017, Julia Amory was planning her wedding and searching for the perfect linens for the big day. Unable to find exactly what she had her heart set on, she decided to have custom tablecloths made from block-printed fabric sourced from India. That creative solution sparked the beginning of her brand, India Amory, which eventually evolved into the lifestyle brand we now know as Julia Amory.
At JA, you’ll find an assortment of classic silhouettes, colorful patterns, and pieces designed for both everyday wear and special occasions. The collections strike a balance between playful elegance and bohemian flair, while always staying true to timeless style over fleeting trends. In my opinion, this brand offers some of the best classic wardrobe staples out there!
Julia Amory Storefront
In 2022, Julia Amory opened its first storefront in the heart of Palm Beach, and in 2024, they expanded with a second location in Charleston. Anytime I visit Palm Beach, this is always my first shopping stop—and I can’t wait to visit the Charleston location someday! Unsurprisingly, the store is absolutely stunning. Plus, it’s so fun to be able to try everything on in person!
Why I Love This Brand
What I love most about Julia Amory clothing is how truly classic each piece is. I’ve always been drawn to timeless fashion icons like Grace Kelly, Katharine Hepburn, and Elizabeth Taylor—and I could easily imagine all of these women wearing JA. None of the Julia Amory pieces I’ve purchased will ever go out of style, in my opinion, which makes them well worth the investment.
I also appreciate that many Julia Amory styles are perfect for mixing and matching. On top of that, the brand always seems to release designs in colors that are both current and absolutely stunning. There’s just so much to love about this brand!
Tips for Ordering Julia Amory
After placing quite a few orders over the past few years, I’ve picked up a few tips for shopping Julia Amory!
First, keep in mind that JA is a small (and very popular!) brand. Because of that, styles often sell out quickly. So if you see a Julia Amory piece you love, I highly recommend grabbing it ASAP.
Second, be sure to talk to others about how the pieces fit. While you can return items for store credit or exchange sizes, it’s not ideal if you’re shopping for a specific event and need the right fit right away. Since there aren’t any product reviews on the website, I’m hoping this post can serve as a helpful resource for sizing and fit!
Julia Amory Favorites
With that being said, let’s dive into some of my Julia Amory favorites! I’ve found that the fit of different JA styles can be a bit tricky—some run small, while others run large. So I’m highlighting a few of my go-to pieces and sharing my personal fit notes in hopes of making your shopping experience a little easier!

1. Julia Pants
The Julia Pants are my favorite pants I own. They’re high-waisted, super flattering, and can be worn as part of a matching set or mixed and matched with different tops.
Fit-wise, these do run long. I’m 5’9″ and don’t need to hem them, so if you’re shorter, you most likely will. I’ve also had a few different fit experiences with these pants. When I first tried them on in-store, they ran very small. However, Julia Amory has since updated their sizing, and they now fit me true to size. That said, I always recommend checking the specific product measurements on their website, as sizing can vary from piece to piece.
2. Jane Dress
If you’re looking for a classic silhouette that will never go out of style, the Jane Dress is it. It’s a great piece to layer with a cardigan and dress up with fun accessories. It also comes in a shorter version, which I don’t have—but I’ve seen it on my girlfriend, and it’s absolutely adorable for summer!
I originally ordered a size small but ended up exchanging it for an XS, as it ran a bit big on me. However, if you have a fuller bust, you may want to stick with your usual size instead of sizing down.

3. Babe Pants
Julia Amory’s Babe Pant is something I reach for over and over again—whether I’m running into school or just want to feel a little more put together while running errands.
I have two versions of these pants—the Ikat and the Garden Chintz—in two different sizes: XS and Small. In the photo at the beginning of this post, I’m wearing the Brown Ikat in an XS. As you can see, it fits, but it’s a bit more snug than I prefer. I like my pants to have a little more give, so the Small is my favorite size in this style.
4. Camille Dress
The Camille Dress in silk dupioni gives off To Catch a Thief vibes—it’s absolutely stunning! This is one of my favorite pieces to reach for whenever we have a special event, school gala, or any dressier occasion.
In my experience, this Julia Amory dress fits very true to size. It’s often released in a variety of beautiful colors, which tend to sell out quickly. So if you have your eye on a particular shade, I highly recommend grabbing it as soon as it becomes available!

6. Jackie Pants
During our recent trip to London, I paired my chocolate brown Blair Top with the Jackie Pants for a classy date night look—and I loved it! A timeless cigarette pant is a wardrobe staple, and the Jackie fits that bill perfectly.
I originally ordered these pants in an XS but ended up exchanging them for a Small. Once again, I preferred the looser, more comfortable fit of the larger size. If you like a bit more ease in your pants, you may want to consider sizing up.

7. Husband Shirt
Julia Amory’s Husband Shirt is another closet staple—especially here in Florida. I got one a few years ago and still wear it nonstop. It’s incredibly versatile! I love throwing it on over a bathing suit as a cover-up just as much as layering it over a white tee with jeans for a more polished look.
These shirts are designed to have a relaxed fit, so I’d recommend ordering your usual size.
Honest Thoughts on Julia Amory
If you’ve been curious to try Julia Amory, I hope this post has been helpful! All of the fit notes above are based on my personal experience, as I genuinely love this brand and wear it often. The pieces are timeless, high-quality, and designed to stay in style for years to come.
