Gifts for Parents/in-law’s/grandparents isn’t actually all that tricky. For me, anyway. Although I know it could be. I remember my dad alllllways telling me how much he loved handmade gifts growing up – he still stores literally everything we’ve ever drawn him or made him in his closet, for safe keeping. So yes, the best gifts don’t always cost much … thank you dr. castellano. {i can’t stop watching this btw} I digress….
But I like to give something other than my “art work” now that I’m quite a bit older. Photos are parents favorite things ever. especially grandparents. So photos they get! in the form of … everything.
For my In-laws year after year I make them a photo book of our family vacation … every year we’ve been out of the country together (Canada, France, Switzerland, Russia, Panama, and Italy – so crazy!). They seem to love the photo books I make because they’re always front and center on their coffee table. Every year I sort of get a little overwhelmed making them, rearranging them, spewing a few curse words because how can the app cotton picking crash again!!! This year though I was done in about fifteen minutes and used Impressed App on my ipad. frustration free.
I usually make a calender with photos too – which I know they like, because they still display 2011’s calender. (: I always love pinhole press for this. I think they can do no wrong. quality is also incredible and I find their whole process easy peasey. I’ve made a couple magnets this year for my dad when he first held tuck. and just tuck, because gosh that itty bitty tuck is so dang cute. don’t know if I can give that one away. they also have a memory game that is going in tucks stocking… though it will be a while until he gets it. still love the instagram photos I used for this little present.
