I just got back from the most incredible brand trip to Nantucket with Marea. My sister, Molly, and I were invited to spend a few days on the island with an amazing group of creators and the Marea team, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. I left feeling so inspired by all of the women on the trip and grateful that I get to do what I do for a living.
Molly and I actually traveled to Nantucket together last year as well, and it truly is just as dreamy as you would imagine. From the beautiful blooms to the picturesque streets and top-notch shopping, it has quickly become one of my favorite destinations.
I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed deciding what to wear for these trips. Nantucket is such a special place to dress for, with the most classic style! So if you have an upcoming trip to the Grey Lady—or simply love timeless fashion—I hope these Nantucket outfit ideas give you plenty of inspiration for your own summer wardrobe.
What to Wear on Nantucket in June
Both last year and this year, Molly and I traveled to Nantucket in June. While July is technically the island’s peak travel season because of the beautiful blooms, I really enjoyed visiting in June. The crowds weren’t overwhelming, yet all of the shops and restaurants were open.
That said, I imagine July and August are even more picturesque (although Nantucket is beautiful any time of year!), but they’re also much busier.
With that in mind, anytime I’m deciding what to wear for a trip, I always start by checking the weather (and working my way through my travel checklist). We lucked out with absolutely beautiful conditions during our visit. Days were mostly in the 70s, with cool ocean breezes dropping temperatures into the 60s in the evenings. This Florida girl was thrilled to pack multiple sweaters and long dresses to create some truly classic Nantucket outfits!
Nantucket Outfit Ideas
After checking the weather, I mapped out a rough itinerary of our daily activities. That helped me make sure I packed cute and comfortable outfits for every occasion. As always, when packing for a trip, I leaned into a color palette that allowed for lots of mixing and matching so I could create a variety of looks from just a few staple pieces. The theme of this trip was classic Americana style, with lots of red, white, and blue, plus a few fun pops of color.
Keeping all of that in mind, these are the Nantucket outfits I landed on for our summer trip!
Nantucket Travel Day Outfit
First up, let’s talk about my Nantucket outfit for a travel day. When traveling, my goal is always to stay comfortable while still feeling put together. I previously wrote a post on how to create comfortable airport outfits without sacrificing style, and this look could absolutely be added to that list!
For the first travel day, I wore a chic pair of trouser pants that are polished, tailored, and incredibly comfortable. I’m a big believer in layering when traveling, so I styled them with my favorite pointelle tee and a timeless striped cardigan. These woven flats are a great travel option because they never hurt my feet and they match everything. This sage green travel bag has been the MVP of my summer travels, and I also love this suitcase as a checked bag.
Nantucket Dinner Outfit
Neutrals, coastal details, and layers are the way to go on Nantucket. This white cotton eyelet skirt is incredibly versatile, and you can easily style it multiple ways throughout a single trip.
One evening, we had planned to have dinner at Cisco Brewery but due to some rain rolling in, we went to Dreamland Theatre. It had iconic views of the harbor!  I paired the skirt with this yellow pointelle cardigan tucked in and a fun shell necklace. Both added such a cheerful pop of color! I draped this classic beach sweater over my shoulders in case the air conditioning got chilly and finished the look with a woven bag (I also love this shell option) and simple leather sandals
Casual Nantucket Outfit
One afternoon, we enjoyed a beach picnic and spent some time doing needlepoint by the water. It was such a relaxing, memorable day. You really can’t beat a meal with a beautiful view and even better company!
This seersucker matching set was perfect for the occasion—casual, comfortable, and elevated. It would also be great for a day of shopping, sightseeing, or even running errands back home. I styled it with this stunning blue necklace, a chic sun hat, and this new favorite striped tote.
Nantucket Clambake Outfit
If you’re looking for a special dinner while on the island, I highly recommend a candlelit clambake at The Nantucket Hotel. It was such a memorable experience!
For this evening, I wore a timeless white dress with gorgeous details. I truly believe this is one of those Nantucket outfits that deserves a spot on everyone’s packing list! There are endless ways to style it, but I kept things casual with my favorite wrap sandals, a fun fish necklace, a beaded mini bag, and my go-to hoop earrings.
Nantucket Workout Outfit
One morning, we had the joy of attending a workout led by Grace Freyre of GFF and FORM. It was such a great workout and so much fun! We followed it up with smoothies at The Nantucket, which were the perfect refreshing treat afterward.
I wore this FORM active set, which is incredibly comfortable and flattering. The red-and-white layered look felt especially perfect for summer! I paired it with these trusty (and fun!) sneakers and adorable embroidered socks.

After fun-filled days of exploring, I always look forward to winding down and relaxing a bit. We stayed at The Nantucket Hotel, and it was both beautiful and peaceful.
This pointelle lounge set is the perfect Nantucket outfit for a relaxing evening, thanks to its subtle blue-and-white floral pattern and timeless design. It’s so soft and comfortable! I also brought along some of my recent skincare favorites, including this lip mask, these eye patches, and this overnight moisturizing mask.
Nantucket Shopping Outfit
If you know me, you know I can’t resist a great antique shop, and the Grey Lady has some of the best around. This Nantucket outfit is easy, breezy, timeless, and perfect for a day of shopping thanks to layers that work just as well outdoors in the warmth as they do in chilly air conditioning.
For this look, I styled the same white cotton skirt I wore for dinner at Cisco Brewery with a matching eyelet blouse. I really can’t get over the exquisite details in these pieces! To finish the look, I layered this gorgeous shawl cardigan, which is a piece I’ll be wearing for many years to come. I kept the accessories simple with a small woven tote and navy wrap sandals.
Nantucket Outfits for Every Occasion
When it comes to Nantucket outfits, I don’t think you can ever go wrong by leaning into timeless, simple, coastal style. If you have an upcoming trip to the island, I hope these outfit ideas help inspire your own packing list. And the best part is that every one of these looks can easily be worn back home as well, no matter where you’re headed!
