Hope you all had a fun fourth! We had a nice long weekend thank to the market being closed on Friday. We had a fourth of July party at our house last year since you can watch the fireworks from our little dock, but took this year off since we had just had Wesley’s party. Next year though, it is on! We spent the morning of the fourth with friends and Tuck got to slide down a big blow up water slide, and swim. I got to be the fun parent for a bit, and take him down the water slide a bunch of times. That situation was not graceful, at all. haha. I don’t get to be the fun parent as much these days, so it was nice to have JB’s hands on deck to help with Wes. After naps we went to the park just down the street which had Rodney Atkins playing, and a bunch of bounce houses. Tuck loooooved it of course. JB made a delicious dinner – fresh grouper (he caught on friday) that was pan fried with mango on top, grilled corn, sweet potatoes, and of course – watermelon for dessert. Then yesterday after church, we hopped on the boat while grandma watched wesley. Wesley rolled over a number of times this weekend, and even while grandma was watching him. Go wes, go! It was a great weekend, and it always reminds me how grateful I am to be from and live in such an incredible country. We have our problems, of course, like any country! But I am so proud of America!
I think “why I unfollowed 500 people on instagram” by Juley is definitely worth reading!
so I totally admitted to my sister recently that I don’t know what the new eyebrow trend is. do I just let them go? … so continue to do what I’m doing? ha. I really am confused and keep asking friends because I feel like making an eyebrow faux pas is real real bad these days.
I got a sample of beauty counter’s sunscreen, fell in love, and bought a big tube. It works well, has pure ingredients, and has the best citrus smell.
We head to Disney for a whole week on Friday with my momma. We’ve been before (here (at one) and when tuck was 1 1/2) with Tuck. I stumbled on this cute mamas tips and she led me here, here, and here in case you too are headed with littles. My favorite tip was to put an ice pack in the little insert on the ergo! Thankfully my mom is going to watch Wesley some days so Wesley doesn’t get too hot and I can have some quality time with Tuck at Disney.
Wesley’s Sip and See on Little Peanut Mag. Definitely my favorite online magazine and little people/mama blog!
Tuck is saying so many hilarious things lately. He’s really obsessed with fixing things. any thing with any thing. my tweezers are a tool apparently? I can almost always distract him when I need to with asking him “can you fix this for me” and he’s all “mmmm hmmmmm mama I fick it for you!” he’s also always asking lola to “tit, lola!” which is his way of telling her to sit. ha. My two year old is totally exhausting but I have to say there is so much to love about a two year old. They are soooo cute, in between tantrums of course. (:
I love this one piece. Love the high neck as my heart surgery scar can get pretty intense when it’s out in the sun too much. And this ruffly bikini is so cute too!
I discovered these chips through mommy mailbox and bought a whole case. love the added protein that I need in a snack. Speaking of mommy mailbox, they sent me one and it was such a treat! would make a great gift for a new mom.
this is an old article, but i read it Saturday night with tears in my eyes. Just a really good reminder that this time being needed so much right now is short and precious.
I am debating leaving that old flag (which was the original one out front when we bought the house last year) up forever. Just hanging it a bit higher, or maybe sideways. I love how weathered it is. What do you think?
