JB let me know as we packed up the house this last weekend that I have three boxes of tea. Not little boxes either. I’m nuts. I also have a lot of friends who know I love it and pretty much give it to me at every turn. I’m a one cup of coffee kind of girl and after that I drink water and tea. My starbucks order when I indulge? a grande black iced tea. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree either – my mom actually turned her wet bar into a tea bar at their house. So you get it, we’re crazy for tea. I love that tea can pretty much help me no matter what mood I’m in. I love that there are so many benefits for tea too – tons of antioxidant zapping free radicals in every cup and each one has its own magical property – whether it’s lowering blood pressure, warding off cancer, or just calming you down. Tea is my jam. clearly.
Darjeeling Tea: It’s got caffeine a plenty in it, and tons of antioxidants — which a lot of teas have both. So why is it so special? I just love the taste. I feel so fancy drinking darjeeling (; Oh and this loose leaf kind is deeeelicious.
Jasmine Tea: Also falls into the category of just really delicious tea with a ton of benefits.
JB and I have a routine of drinking hot tea before bed. We love the Yogi bedtime tea. It does have a little valerian in it – so if you’re sensitive to that you’ll want to stay away.
to calm the heck down:
Kava – britt and my bff haley suggested I try this. It “eases tension and promotes relaxation”. It’s kind of got a kick like chai to me. Maybe it’s a placebo effect but it totally calms me down when I’m having a freak out session for no gosh darned good reason.
I also love this whole tulsi line which has holy basil in it and can provide some anxiety relief.
When you are almost vom.com-ing:
Ginger tea to the rescue! I pretty much lived off of this when I was pregnant. I still threw up most days (such a delightful visual, sarah) but this would help curb that nauseous feeling sometimes.
**I drink most of my tea with no sweetener, but if I need something sweet – I put a teaspoon of raw honey in it**
Anyone have any favorites they’d love to share? I probably have some in one of my three boxes of tea currently located in my garage (; I promise I’m not normally a hoarder, but where tea is concerned apparently I am.
