At the start of May we headed down to Casa de Campo down in the Dominican Republic with our friends and our kids. We hadn’t been to the DR since our honeymoon over 15 years ago now. Everything about Casa de Campo was so dreamy. I loved our time there.
The weather in May was so nice. Not too hot yet. I am someone who loves humidity especially when it’s balmy. We had some rainstorms- which I personally love. But most of the time the sun was shining.
We just did a long weekend there. But there’s really SO much to do!

Where we stayed
We stayed in one of the villas, which was perfect for the size of our group. We had daily maid service and a chef who prepared breakfast and lunch whenever we were around. One of my favorite things was the magical laundry hamper (;—you’d drop your clothes in, and the next day, they’d reappear clean and folded. Going home with no laundry was such a treat.
There’s also a beautiful hotel on the property, along with a variety of villas in different sizes to accommodate any group.
Where we ate
We enjoyed breakfast in the villa every day except our last morning. For a special treat, we had brunch at Lana Cana—and absolutely loved it!
SBG: This place is stunning. We loved it so much, we ate there twice. The view is incredible, and all the adults raved about the octopus.
Shibuya: A delicious sushi spot—we’d definitely go back!
In Villa Chef: One night, we had a chef from the resort come cook for us in the villa. The meal was excellent, and there was so much food we got to enjoy the leftovers for lunch the next day.
Cinco: A cute little spot for ice cream.
Dolce: A great place to grab a cappuccino!

What we did at Casa de Campo
There is a ton to do here without ever leaving the resort. We went deep sea fishing, rode buggies to the caves, swam every afternoon, and enjoyed the Minitas beach club. The beach club really shines here. It has restaurants, shopping, a beautiful beach that’s roped off, soccer on the beach, and even banana boats.
