Molly’s Baby Shower

All the details

This is the most special tablescape to share!  My beautiful baby sister, the one I begged my parents for, is having a precious baby boy in August.  Together with family and her best friends, we threw her the sweetest baby shower.

I felt a little rusty as I hadn’t thrown a baby shower in a while.  Molly and I threw her best friend one which I shared here, and my best friends here, and here.  But we kept just going back to Molly’s favorite things … and her incredible style and her attention to detail.  We had fun putting it all together!

Which of course meant a beautiful tablescape.  We paired Aerin x Williams Sonoma’s new dinnerware with parterre linens, and TriChi napkins.  We used local monogrammer The Ivy Porch to embroider everyone’s monogram on them as a keepsake takeaway.  Many people said they’d use them for a bread basket!  Of course we had to have bamboo flatware, so we combined a few sets we have.  We used paper in a pinch, which truly was in a pinch because our placecards did not arrive in time.  But having Paper in a Pinch saved the day for the seating arrangement.

For the flowers we worked with Fifty Flowers to create the arrangements.  It was a mix of Lily of the Valley, Peonies, Freesia, tulips, ivy, jasmine vines, roses, and hydrangeas.  We used our favorite Hibiscus vases on the table from Vietri. We also mixed in some precious silver vases too.

As far as the flow, we’re not big baby shower game girlies.  Guests were greeted by a boxwood wreath with a precious tricia lowenfield stork.  Which is actually a christmas ornament, but we just flipped it around.  So sweet!  But we did have Phoebe Powell playing her harp when people walked in.   We had a few sweet helpers that took everyone’s gifts and put them in the Petite Keep trunks.  We had one for bigger gifts and one for cards.  So sweet and will be a keepsake for Molly!  They then offered champagne or sparkling water.  After people caught up a bit, we had our sister in law share a prayer.  It was so special, and there weren’t too many dry eyes in the place after!  We then started lunch out on the patio.  We had everything catered by Blade and Tine – which was so delicious, as always.  Salads, chicken salad crosaints, baked brie, caprese slides… all of it was delicious!  We had a Caroline’s cake in caramel cake which was our grandmothers favorite, chocolate chip cookies, and coconut macaroons.  It was a warm day but we had Beach Suites umbrellas and that was so helpful and also beautiful!  You have probably seen their set ups on the beach, but the umbrellas added so much to the patio, and outdoor areas.  We were so thankful the sun was off our backs due to the heat!  For the bar set up we used The White Bounce House Tampa, and she even wrapped the bar with some blue and white gingham fabric I had been saving.  Our friend Susan of For Pete’s Sake Pottery made one of her custom beverage tubs based on Molly’s invitations.  It’s a work of art, and I know she will use it for many parties to come!  At the bar we had sparkling water, champagne, aperol spritz, and iced tea.

For a little takeaway gift, guests were invited to take their monogramed trichi lily of the valley napkin home, grab a custom cookie from sweet line cookies, and make a takeaway bouquet with all of the fifty flowers we had.  We set this up on its own and used cailini coastal hurricane vases.  We used this bouquet wrapping paper specifically for florals.  So while we didn’t have games, the floral making was a fun activity for all.  We also had baby pictures of Molly and Austin tied in bows to balloons floating around.

All of the photography is from our darling angel photographer Alisia Thompson

It was truly such a special morning celebrating Molly.  I know she will make the most wonderful mother and I cannot wait to see her as a mom (:
