these “power packs” are perfect for toddlers! a little bit of everything and $6.
Last week we were staying at Disney’s Saratoga Springs. My parents had a timeshare scheduled and we were really looking forward to that fun time with the kids. Then my grandmother got sick (she’s getting better thank God), but my mother was needed at home with her. We already had the timeshare, and we bought tickets months ago. So I figured, why not. There’s a ton to do at the resort for the kids, and if I was feeling up to it I’d go to the parks. It ended up being a great week… eerily good. Until the last day when I must have been due for a meltdown… and it happened at Target of all places. People of the Kissimmee Target, I’m sorry. You win some, you lose some. But thankfully Magic Kingdom was a win. And this is what we did, if you ever find yourself solo at Magic Kingdom.
-Parked at Contemporary because we had reservations for lunch at Chef Mickey. I did this also because I could unload my stroller and walk right in. Also because I think Chef Mickey is probably the best character meal.
-We had reservations at Be Our Guest for breakfast. So we walked right in the park at 8:15, 45 minutes before opening time. We had a pretty quick breakfast.
-As soon as we were out the park was still empty but rides had started working. It also helped that it was a drizzly tuesday, and few people were there! We walked on every ride… Enchanted Tales with Belle, The Little Mermaid Ride, Dumbo, met minnie, goofy, pluto and daisy, the teacups, Buzz lightyears ride, the carousel of progress, Mickey’s Philharmagic, and then Wesley passed out. I let Tuck pick out one thing then. He picked out a mickey star wars hat which cracked me up! He has never seen Star Wars! We went to Chef Mickey while Wesley napped the entire way through, and called it a good day. I didn’t want to press my luck! I debated going back that afternoon but I think the boys needed some downtime, so we ended up just going to the pool once the rain stopped, dinner in, and had an early bedtime.
JB came up on Friday after work and I don’t know if I’ve ever been happier to see another person. Single moms, you are all heroes!!!
My stroller (c/0). This joovy double stroller was perfect for disney – tons of shade, storage, and a little peekaboo window. You can rent strollers there, so if you are flying in, that may be what you want to do. A cooler packed with snacks. I loaded it up with apple sauce, yogurt, and slammer pouches, those new Annie’s Pea B&J sandwiches, granola bars, and cheddar bunnies. They also have these kids power packs for $6 which have the same sort of things and are great for offering a variety to a picky eater. A carrier in case Wes was over the stroller or needed to nurse.
Two leak proof nalgene sippy cups filled with water.
Honest Hand Sanitizer– for after rides
Raincoats (c/0) or ponchos – In Florida you never know when it’s going to downpour. But when it does, it’s kind of nice! Lines are nearly non-existant and it cools you off. If you didn’t bring one there are ponchos available for purchase.
Download My Disney Experience to get your fast passes and dining reservations.
Magic Band – You’ll get one of these if you stay at a Disney resort. This made it so easy for me to pay for things all over our resort and park. No fishing around for my wallet necessary. This will also have your reservations and fast passes on them.
Wipes and Diapers
Swim trunks, swim diaper, extra set of clothes for both boys
supergoop Sunscreen
Camera
Stroller fan or mister fan
And in case you need something cute to wear for your little ones::
