The St. Regis Punta Mita was the ultimate baby moon! I am so grateful for this time with JB before our Wesley is here! This was another incentive trip through JB’s company which he got from working so hard. I picked this one out of a bunch of others because the appeal of doing nothing two months prior to Wesley arriving sounded like the best idea ever. St Regis’s all over the world really go above and beyond as far as service. We had butler service around the clock. I’ve had that at other resorts and I didn’t really utilize them. But our sweet butlers, Hector and Luis, let me text them for anything at any hour. I needed tums one night for some good ole pregnancy heart burn- they brought them in a jiffy! Every morning I’d text for our coffee, and voila – literally less than five minutes later there our butler was. Plus saying you have a butler (even if it is just for a week) is verrrry fancy. They also will hang up all your clothes, press some for free, draw your bath… I mean literally, pretty much whatever you could imagine. They’d do it!
The food! We’re not ones to not venture off property in Mexico. But the food was soooo good, the water purified, there were a bunch of different dining options – so we just didn’t eat off until we went into Sayulita. Also it was Free.99 – JB’s company paid for all of the food minus the lobster. Free food tastes eeeeeven better, yes?! My favorite was Mita Mary. It’s a little boat down by the ocean that they cook out of. You can see what kind of fish has just come in too! Literally watch them come right off the boats. As soon as I would tell them I was pregnant, or they’d notice – the bartender was on their game. Their mocktails are THE BEST. They came up with amazing fresh fruit inspired cocktails. Every time I would think – how did they come up with this! genius!
Wherever we’d have dinner they’d always remember that I was allergic to pineapples and apples. I don’t even want to talk about that allergy! Makes me sad! But I was extremely impressed that they’d always mention it and ask if there was anything else, other than pregnancy related food items to avoid. When I was in the hospital I would get served Pineapples and apples daily – JB and I were really blown away by the level of detailed service! They’d also bring out our dessert plates that said “happy babymoon!”. So sweet!
One night we came back from dinner to blue balloons everywhere and blue ribbon hung all over our room as well as a sweet note, again, saying “Happy Babymoon!”. Thoughtful, always!
I looooved the spa. They were mindful of my baby bump, brought me vanilla iced tea and fresh ginger drinks while I read by the pools. The staff was lovely!
It was a great trip for us because JB got to be busy, busy, busy every morning. I got to blob more than I have in years – which entailed my nose in books, baths, lounging by the pool, and noshing on yummy foods and drinks. JB would be free dive spear fishing! playing in a round robin tennis tournament! fishing! golfing! … and I’d be back on ground doing what I never get to do, blob! Then we would meet back for more of my kinda relaxing together!
It was the most special time with my best friend / lifetime travel buddy / forever boyfriend.
