Tassels remind me of my Ninny’s curtains growing up. I always thought they looked super sophisticated but also as one of the million details that gave her home character. She hung huge intricate tassels over her hundred year old doorknobs … and I vow to do the same one day.
My daddy bought some alligator shoes with tassels when we were living in Milan. 25 years later, and he’s still wearing them. And they’re still gorgeous. I wish we wore the same size. I am not above wearing mens shoes! My view on men’s shoes are – tassels are always a good idea. I’m always asking JB when he’s looking at new shoes- well, does it have tassels?!
Of course there is Holly Golightly with her fabulous earrings but then there are other tassels that sorta remind me of some cool bohemian girl I’d see looking relaxed but perfect in the british virgin islands. They’re my current fave detail in dressing. Like you hadn’t noticed (;
