Classic Fall Capsule Wardrobe 2023

Fall capsule wardrobe classic

MY FALL CAPSULE WARDOBE

A popular post this year was my Ultimate European Packing list.  Which served as a sort of capsule for summer this year in general.   I wore all of the items, over and over, mixing and matching.  Quite a few I’ll bring into fall too!  Like I state in my list of 23 classic staples for a timeless wardrobe, these capsules aren’t meant for an all new wardrobe.  But to give you ideas for existing pieces in your closet, and ones you may want to pepper in something new.  I do like to invest in nice pieces I can wear year after year, and I also think an iron goes a LONG way.  Taking care of your pieces and pressing what needs to be pressed, elevates your outfits!

Links for my classic fall capsule, and why I chose it below:

1.  A classic trench.  I am longing for fall temps, and to wear this trench Veronica Beard sent my way.  A classic trench is always in style.  I love ones that cinch in the waist.  This is a less expensive version, but classic all of the way!

2.  A barn jacket.  I love the look of a barn jacket.   I have owned this Barbour one for a few years now, and always pull it out around this time.

3.  a beautiful sweater.  The length of this one is great.  But any neutral sweater works great for mixing up your outfits.

4.  This poncho is gorgeous.  I love the silhouette it gives.

5.  A wrap is always great to have.  For travel, for throwing on in case of chilly evenings, and just to add a little coziness to your outfit.  This wool one will keep you warm!

6.  Lady Jacket.  J.Crew does it again, and I think they have perfected the lady jacket.  This elevates a tee in a second with jeans.  This $28 is a great look for less.  and would be better for warmer climates like mine.

7.  Classic Stripe shirt.  This is a boat neck, and this one is short sleeve with puff sleeves.  Both can be mixed in your fall wardrobe.  A stripe is always in, in my opinion.

8.  A Turtleneck.  The arlette is my all time favorite turtleneck.  When I’m in colder weather, this is always on me.  Call me Diane Keaton (:

9.  This white tee is a good base.  Peel layers off when you need, especially if you run hot.

10.  A trendy piece to mix into your classic wardrobe is always fun.  I love this fun short sleeve sweater.

11.   These trousers are so pretty, and I love the detail at the bottom.  If you’re looking for a more expensive option- here it is- and one that’s less – here’s some!

12.  A silk skirt – dress it up or down.  Hits high for a flattering fit.

13.  These jeans are so fun!  I’m loving the wide leg.  But think they look best with heels.  If you are looking for skinny jeans – this is a pair I’ve loved for a few years.

14. This fitted dress is a stunner.

15.  This chocolate brown dress is perfect for any cocktail events you’ve got coming up.

16.  This shirtdress will always be in style.  I have this in a striped blue, and love to throw it on.  Instantly chic.

17.  Drawstring bag from Pamela Munson.  She is my favorite handbag designer.  This one has embossed croc and soft straw. It’s gorgeous!

18.  Not going to lie, I want every longchamp in all the colors.   They last forever, and always look great.  This tiny one is adorable.

19.  A woven tote you can pull out year after year.

20.   Sunglasses.  These have been some favorite, and these $18 ones never disappoint.

21.  Boots.  These ones are beautiful!

22.  Flats.  These  Ballet flats and these pointy toed ones are neutral faves.

23.  Loafers – I love my Stubbs & Wootton ones.  You can always get 20% off with SISTERSINSTUBBS20

24.  Love a good sneaker you can wear around town, or dress up.  These are super cute.  I can’t stop thinking about these cuties.

25.  Heels.  These are ones that will be in your closet forever.
