{thank you to The Vinoy for hosting our family this weekend! It was a dream!!}
I love St. Pete! It has the best vibe – it’s not pretentious, it’s active, it’s beautiful, good food is a must, it’s cultured and it’s just alive. I could use those same attributes for the gorgeous historical hotel in St Pete, The Vinoy. We were supposed to go to North Carolina this week but the weather forecast had it raining every day, so we opted for a staycation at The Vinoy. I’m so glad we did!!
We’ve enjoyed The Vinoy a couple of times but this was our first time with kids. Well, out of my belly anyway! Our very first trip to The Vinoy, I was pregnant but no one other than family and a few close friends knew yet.  Actually when I announced our pregnancy it’s of a photo of a little bump at The Vinoy. Â
So The Vinoy will always hold a special place in my heart. Last year I went with girlfriends, and this year JB and I took the kids. I’m always on the hunt for hotels that are great for families, from the staff, to the pools, to the events at the club, The Vinoy is definitely one that is amazing for kids (and their parents!!)Â
Starting at Check in! how cute is this kids check in?!  The newly redesigned rooms are gorgeous! Every detail is lovely, fresh, and fun. The bed is sooo comfortable!! And obviously good for jumping (:
They pulled out the sofa bed for the boys each night and made it up. I loved the set up for our family of four. When the sofa bed was up, it was a great spot for having some wine and cheese for the adults – and cookies and milk for the boys.  JB’s parents came too, so it was a great space to hang out in the room. Â
We had dinner at Paul’s Landing on Friday night, which is the newest of The Vinoy’s restaurants. We loved every morsel! I had gulf grouper tacos and JB had a whole branzino topped with corn and watermelon. We also shared one of the best key lime pie ever!  I loved that their beers are all from local breweries. The “pauls landing” from 3 sisters brewery in St. Pete is a little like a blue moon, but better. There is lots of outdoor seating, and every bit of the design is gorgeous. Every corner is instagram worthy (:
We spent a ton of time at the newly redesigned pool area – which is attached to Paul’s Landing. It’s such a fun atmosphere – with lots of activities for the kids and music. All that pink though! Can it get any prettier?! Tuck kept flirting with teenaged girls, and then asked them to meet him by the waterfall. Then motioned “come on!” … a whole troop of them followed. hahaha.
Something I didn’t know until this visit is that guests of the resort can utilize everything at the Vinoy Club! They have another pool there with a splash pad, two restaurants, a golf course, and special events. Honestly if we lived in St Pete I would be dying to join! We were lucky enough to be there during their “touch of a truck” event and the boys went crazy. They also had the Hyppo gourmet pops truck serving their popsicles. Soo good!   I loved getting to chat with Chef Ben and their director, Megan, who together create incredibly fun events for adults and children. The night before was Cupcakes and Cocktails! Â
We also went to Brick and Mortar before dinner on Saturday night and then to a Rays baseball game. Jb and my father in law also played a round of golf at The Vinoy Club Sunday morning. Â
What a memorable weekend with my fam. We loved our stay at barbies dream mansion (; The Vinoy!  Everything from the comfy beds, beautiful rooms, fun pools and activities, delicious meals, to the location was just perfect.
