When I was reading Amanda’s post (she’s moving to Croatia!!) where she asked for suggestions within Europe it got me thinking of my favorite spots. Then during nap time I went through my blogs travel page and it got me smiling, and thinking … it is sometimes about how beautiful a place is but most of the time it is who you bring along that makes wherever you are, it. Here’s some of my favorites and why.
The pakleni islands (Croatia). is this spot not unreal?
an ice cave in engelberg, switzerland.
jb totally white knuckled it driving the swiss alps (why must they have no rails!) while I sat there exclaiming “look! how pretty it is! look over there!!” … I’m glad JB didn’t look, as he was focusing on not falling off the cliffs. (:
hiking with friends (who were in their seventies!!!) during fall in switzerland.
stopped for lunch and had (ahhhh mazing) pumpkin soup overlooking the valleys.
hvar, croatia. an unreal and unspoiled place. this is bonj les bains
seeing the hermitage in st. petersburg, russia
throwing back a vodka shot with his parents won’t soon be forgotten either (:
Attending our friends wedding inside the Vatican. Pretty amazing.
dancing all night at the former president of panama’s 100th birthday
living like castaways (for a few hours) in the BVI’s and snorkeling crystal clear water together
staying in pedasi, panama with some of our best friends (and now parents of my goddaughter!)
with an incredible italian chef, that happened to be a panama transplant, that made us all dinner each night.
discovering st. jakob beach with JB in Dubrovnik. we took a kayak to caves from here.
this is a beach i cannot wait to take my kids one day.
showing tuck our newlywed hometown and having tea with our basel made besties.
wandering sayulita 32 weeks pregnant with jb, and both swearing we will bring our boys back here. for surf lessons one day.
the coliseum by night.
walking the streets of Paris, alone.
the anne frank museum in Amsterdam. I boo-hoo’d the whole way through. it is so moving.
beautiful basel, in my favorite part of town.
Las Tablas, Panama Carnival. craaaazy. {so young, so much sleep. lol}
I’m pro calle abajo for anyone who knows what that means (;
coming back from Capri, swimming in caves, upon Positano – sun drenched and all smiles.
randomly snapping these outside a florist in Zurich. and I still find it all over the internet!
JB timing our dinner just right so he could surprise me as we left with the fireworks outside along the river in Prague. It was a national holiday – lucky us.
taking in the hipster scene in berlin
JB getting best batter annnnnd a black eye from a pitch in a random town in Germany for the european tournament.
taking tuck to Mexico at 2 and a half months old. super slow mornings like this with my guys for a week straight was probably my favorite part of the trip.
watching our almost two year old gobble up his first panna cotta in Rome. pure bliss on his face.
and in this new season of life, with two kiddos, I am embracing all of the disney, disney cruises, carribean vacations to come that won’t kill me, that grandparents will happily tag along for, and ones they’ll enjoy for the next few years.
But I hold onto what Jeff Gaffgan says:
“The thing about having a bunch of kids is that you end up doing once in a lifetime things more than once in a lifetime”
I can hardly wait to do once in a lifetime things with them, over and over. one day (:
