January is dear to me. I so love the fresh start. It’s crazy how much clutter Christmas adds to your home. It’s good clutter, but it’s nice when it goes in the attic too. I love the clean slate January gives both my mind and my home. It’s also the month of our anniversary and my first borns birthday.
I always love new years resolutions. I thought about this a lot while we drove home from Mississippi. My word for the year is Invest. I want to invest in my marriage, children, family, and friends. Invest in things for the home that I truly love. Invest in myself, and this blog and in all of you. To me, that looks like spending my time wisely, more meals around our table, spending our money wisely, being intentional with what I do with the boys, spending quality time with JB, reading my Bible more, taking more long walks, more baths for me. I think that also looks like saying no to what goes against all of that.
Here’s my goals for January:
Throw Tucks fourth birthday party – a police theme, of course! This weekend (:
Celebrate seven years being married!!!
I have an entire list in my head of what I want to do to our house in 2017… but for January, I want to pick out new hardware for the armoire/bar. Brass it is! And while we’re at it – pick out new air vent covers.
I want to be diligent in prayer. My ninny left that legacy behind. I want to follow in her footsteps.
I want to write thank you notes – the boys too – even if it’s just a hand print, I’d like for them to be involved.
Finish my powersheets for the month. I am so looking forward to doing these for the next six months.
Meal plan for the week.
After the spending spree of December, I am looking forward to spending less in January.
Organize the disaster of a closet in our upstairs bathroom. Our catchall closet.
rehab this neglected side porch fiddle. I brought it in and repotted it with a ginger jar that heather gave me for christmas.
Happy January!
