Thank you SO much to the Draper James team and Montage Palmetto Bluff for this experience of a lifetime!
Yesterdays post was all about the latest Draper James collection, and today I wanted to focus on my time at the beautiful Montage Palmetto Bluff.

Have you ever been to a place where you just couldn’t wipe the smile off of your face? It’s funny looking back, but that place for me was my Grandmother’s home in Aberdeen, Mississippi. From a young age I loved southern architecture and culture. I had this overwhelming feeling when I walked down Meridian or Commerce Street, or stared with wide eyes at the beauty shop. I gawked at all of the historic homes and the pretty foliage, and imagined living in this tiny town where people just popped by with homemade caramel cake looking for a chat. For a few weeks every year, I dreamt my biggest dreams in my ninny’s guest room. I haven’t been back to Aberdeen in a while. But I got all of those same feels when we first drove into Montage Palmetto Bluff. And I did not stop smiling the whole time I was on the property. The grounds are beyond stunning, and charm is everywhere but it’s that feeling you just can’t put into words Palmetto Bluff evokes. {two piece gal meets glam set c/o // sandals // earrings }
Lodging options at Montage Palmetto Bluff:
- You can stay at the Inn. I experienced that my first night since I arrived a night early due to my long haul flight. It was so lovely and appointed just perfectly. With a claw foot tub I immediately crawled in for a soak. This would be great for a couples getaway! Plus you’re close to Octagon’s Porch, The Pool, and The Spa.
- You can stay at a cottage. These cottages are adorable and would be great for a family of four. Though i know some are larger. Most of these are close to the May river, and with a back and front porch. You can shut the doors in between the two rooms, so you could put your kids down in one room, and slip off to have a glass of wine in the next or right on the porch. I didn’t stay in one of these during my visit, but we did shoot near one. It’s beautiful.
- You can stay at a village home. I moved from The Inn to a village home when the other girls arrived. This would be perfect for larger families, a big girls weekend, or two smaller families splitting a home. Our Village home was gorgeous. I felt like I was in a Nancy Meyers film with that gorgeous kitchen.
The Spa:
I had a manicure and pedicure the morning after I got in, and I neeeeeeded it. I spent a bit of time enjoying and relaxing in the beautiful facilities too – hopping in the steam room, sauna and hot tub. After a long haul flight, this was just perfect. The following day I had the “heart of the bluff” 90 minute massage. My girlfriend said to me: “once you go 90 minute, you can never go back!”…. and I am here to tell you that she is right (: It was pure bliss. Afterward Shay and I chatted it up for hours lounging living that robe life. It was so fun! oh and even the bathrobes are adorable! Who ever heard of a seersucker bath robe tied in a bow?! I was literally swooning over this detail.
Things to do:
There’s so many activities at Montage Palmetto Bluff, you could never get bored. I can’t wait to one day take my family because my guys would have the time of their life. But here are some standouts:
- Nightly S’Mores
- Take a guided tour of the May River. Our guide, Captain Duke, was incredibly knowledgeable and so much fun. Fishing with him would be at the top of my list of things to do!
- Bike riding! so many great bike trails
- Kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards are all included with the resort fee
- take a tour on “Grace’ the 1913 motor yacht that is stunning!
- Tree houses! there are two tree houses, and apparently one even bigger than the one I found.
- The spa!
- archery and riding
- a beautiful golf course
- I’m sure there are many more, I need to explore (: {earrings c/o Vivian Drew – I love these! // jumpsuit // target heels // lisi lerch purse c/o}
Where to eat:
- Octagon’s Porch – Get the oysters! also the cobb salad for lunch is delicious.
- Buffalo’s – I had breakfast there twice, and dinner once. Loved the atmosphere!
- Cole’s – loved the fried chicken and pickes, and that it has a bowling alley attached to it
- There are a few other options, but we didn’t dine there, so can’t speak to them. But loved all of my meals at the above places!
Dreamy just doesn’t begin to cover it! Thank you Montage Palmetto Bluff and Draper James for inviting me!
