One thing I know my friends would say about me is that I love to read. I don’t get to that much anymore, not for pleasure anyway. But I used to rip through books! Though I have been an audible fanatic lately. Best thing to do while I do laundry or dishes! I actually look forward to that time when the kids are asleep and I can listen while I get something done. Makes me feel like mayyyybe my brain hasn’t completely gone to mush. maybe. depends on what I’m listening to! My mother loves books too, so I came by my love for libraries and reading honest. I wanted to share with you my favorite books to read to Tuck. Usually these are the ones before bed. He gets read too many books before bed (is that such a thing!) because I can never say “no” to “just one more book, mom???”. It wasn’t always like this though. He was definitely not interested in books for the first year of his life. Other than the jellycat ones! I thought we’d never enjoy this together. But I’m glad I was wrong! Wesley is a bit more interested in books than tuck was at his age but still a bit too busy to really sit still. I’ll keep trying!!
Pick a Prayer to say thank you: this was mine growing up. I can’t find it any longer 🙁 but if you see it at a thrift store, pick it up!
Kids Prayer journal: Steph sent this to Tuck last year, but I waited to start using it until he turned three. Now that he says his prayers, and I feel like he gets it a bit more (more than I probably realize). This is a sweet time for both of us when we fill it out together. These would make great Easter Basket stuffers!
The Jesus Storybook Bible: Sally Lloyd-Jones is incredible. I love reading this with Tuck. Though I’d say it’s better for 3+. I got this when he was probably six months, and I think I was the only one enjoying it (:
Prayers for mealtime: this whole series is really great. This is the updated version.
God Made Me: This was mine growing up (: I just love this one.
Max Lucado prayer book: this is an old one! can’t find it online. But oh his childrens books are incredible! This one is so good. Not pictured because I couldn’t find it!
Show God’s Love: Who doesn’t love the Berenstain bears?!
We Talk to God: This was mine growing up, so it’s old, and I can’t find it online. Wish I could though because it’s the sweetest.
We Talk to God: This was mine growing up, so it’s old, and I can’t find it online. Wish I could though because it’s the sweetest.
All things Bright and Beautiful: Love this for the verses, some poems, and all in a way children can easily understand.
These Inspirational Nursery Rhymes were sent to us and we just love them!
The whole series is great but the “Giving Thanks” is my favorite.
Baby Jesus by Readers Digest: Perfect for a preschooler.
Really Wooly Bedtime Prayers: I think this book is perfect for a two year old! And you know I love lambs, sooo (: the illustrations are adorable.
Special Times Bible Prayers: This one comes with a CD that we play in the car. Tuck loves it!
Thoughts to make your heart sing: Sally Lloyd-Jones does it again. This will make both of your hearts sing.

Of course we read A LOT of books about trucks, trains, and anything that goes. But these are definitely my favorite to read. I mean excavators are exciting and all (; butttt! My dad (not a reader) was always the one to put me to sleep and I loved that time of a devotional and some prayers. I loved (still do!) his prayers. So naturally I love this time with Tuck. Especially when we are cozy and about to sleep. I can feel like a worthless mother but when he starts thanking God and snuggling me at the end of the day? I can call my efforts good enough! (:
