Wes will be one next month! That’ll also mark a year of nursing for this little guy and I see no signs of him wanting to wean. Selfishly I also hope weaning doesn’t happen soon because I remember the hormone drop last time with tuck, and it gave me a couple of rough weeks emotionally after. You can read his nursing story and tucks (two different stories). Here’s a a little update on my favorite items that have helped me get to this point. Though I haven’t had much of a choice because he is one of those kids that just won’t take a bottle.
1. This top from Jessica Simpson’s line is great. Especially in the early days. It’s kinda like a cover and a shirt in one. Now that wesley is older, and I’m not always nursing in public, I wear a lot of button downs if I have to feed him. This chambray one from Target gets a lot of wear.
2. This is great for all night nursing sessions. Super soft and has a robe. Robes are SO nice during those early weeks.
3. Probably my second favorite nursing bra is the fast food one by Swedish brand, Boob.
4. But Cake makes my favorite nursing bra! I feel like both this one and the above work right after the baby and when things, um, go down to their normal size.
5. These helped so much for the first few weeks of nursing lanisoh soothies. I always kept a pair in the freezer ready to go. Thankfully when wes started biting (around 9 months, and thankfully no longer) I found a pair that was left in the freezer. Praise hands!
6, 7 &8. Honest’s lactation plus seemed to help with my supply. But that could have been a lot of other factors! But their nipple balm for sure helped me with the cracking and soreness of the first few weeks. Oh and then when he started to bite. yikes. This is the carrier I use everyday still. I just face him toward me and I’m able to nurse and I don’t think anyone has a clue.
