Pirate Ship Sail in St LuciaÂ
{tuck is in cabana life (c/o) – they also have a matching for dad! // wesley’s swim trunks and swim shirt are TBBC // I’m wearing Jaipur tunic dress c/o cabana life}
The highlight of the boys trip was EASILY the pirate cruise aboard The Black Magic in St. Lucia. I wasn’t sold on it initially because i knew it would be a long day and I didn’t know how they’d do for 8 hours away. But after randomly mentioning it over breakfast with JB, we thought why not?! We had to get ready in 10 minutes so we were all hot messes. Hence our hair (:! The eight hours was actually very doable because while you were sailing they had treasure hunts, water fights, pirate games, face painting, little prizes for the kids, grog, and an interactive staff. They both LOVED it. The one hang up was going to the sulfur springs and the long botanical garden tour. The springs aren’t really something I think is a must do. It’s A TON of people in a natural hot tub that smells like, well sulfur (so eggs), and then you rub sulfur all over you. Tuck wasn’t a fan, though wes and JB loved it. Splattering sulfur all over. Those two things aside, it was absolutely worth it to go on this with kids. We also stopped to swim for about an hour and “walk the plank” and swing into the ocean. Both were so tired they fell asleep on the way back – so they got a good boat nap in. Tuck is now obsessed with pirates. Wearing his pirate bandana all week, and telling me sleepily before bed that when he grows up he’s going to be a pirate if that’s okay (: It was a great day! It was nice to do this early on in the week, and knock out quite a few things we as adults wanted to see (the pitons, sailing, the sulfur baths, botanical gardens …) while also doing what the kids enjoy. And on top of that it was JB’s birthday! Happy 36th JB! He loved seeing the boys so happy on his day!
ps: will be posting more about St.Lucia – our hotel, and the rest of our trip. Here is yesterdays post at Cap Maison in case you missed it!
