Molly and I had been seeing this Target x Threshold x Studio McGee rattan vase around, and we wanted to use it in a tablescape!  I think you could absolutely put some palm fronds in there, and they tend to not need too much water at all.  But if you want to put something fresh in there, like we did, all you need is a ziplock bag and a rubber band.  Simply slip the ziplock around the mouth of the ziplock, pour in water, and tighten the ziplock once you arrange your flowers in there.  Then put in on the table for a fun vase that has plenty of texture.  You may have to play around with it a bit, but ours stayed like this for a good week!
