My Honest Review of Ruggable Washable Rugs

In this stage of life—as a boy mom and a dog mom who adores classic style—I’m always on the hunt for home decor and furniture that’s not only beautiful and timeless, but also durable. That said, we’ve tested out a lot of different rugs in our historic colonial home

After hearing others rave about Ruggable washable rugs, I finally caved last fall and decided to test one out for myself. Fast forward several months, and we’ve added multiple pieces from this brand to both our home and our rental!

Today, I’m excited to share my honest thoughts on these rugs and my personal experience with them. I’ll also touch on some of my current favorite designs that would look wonderful in any classically styled home. And while a few of these rugs were gifted to me, all of the opinions in this post are sincere and my own.

My First Ruggable Washable Rug

I’ve always wanted a rug in our kitchen to offset the white cabinets, protect our hardwood flooring, and make the space feel a little cozier underfoot while cooking. But at the same time, a rug in the kitchen always sounded high maintenance!

Last fall, I finally caved and bought this beautiful Ruggable rug for the space. The purchase came right after we brought Samantha and Winnie, our Boston terriers, home. They were just seven weeks old, and accidents were inevitable—even with a doggy door. So it felt like the perfect time to finally add a kitchen rug.

I’m not going to lie—at first, I was a little skeptical about Ruggable products. Would the rug really fit in my washing machine? Would it still look good after several washes? Would stains actually come out? And would it feel nice underfoot? But I loved the look of the Annika tufted rug, so I decided to give it a shot!

My Honest Review of Ruggable

Now that we’ve tested these rugs for over six months—and they’ve endured numerous washes—I’m happy to report that I can confidently answer “yes” to all of those questions! Every Ruggable rug we own fits into our washing machine, cleans up beautifully, and feels so nice underfoot.

Washable Rugs

While the girls (pups) are now fully potty trained, I still find myself washing rugs more often than I ever imagined. With our kids having their friends over so frequently—and with two puppies at any age—it’s just so nice to know I can always toss them in the wash. And honestly, they still look brand new!

Rugs with Nonslip Backing

I also absolutely love that most of Ruggable’s styles have a built-in nonslip backing. It’s so nice not to have to purchase a separate rug pad or worry about the rug sliding around. Just another thing I love about these products!

Ruggable Rugs in Our Home & Rental

After our first experience with Ruggable, it didn’t take long for me to start adding more styles throughout our home.

I now have the Arlen rug in slate blue in my office, which also happens to be where the puppies’ crates are. This rug is part of the brand’s Kindred Cottage collection, which I absolutely love. It looks so beautiful in this space! This brown and blue floral style is another favorite from the collection.

We also now have two Ruggable rugs in our rental home. We added this small floral one from their Anthropologie collection to the entryway, and it’s perfect for dusting our feet off after coming in from outside. Our most recent Ruggable addition is this slate blue striped rug in the playroom. I love the coastal touch it adds to the space.

Final Thoughts on Ruggable Washable Rugs

So I guess by now my opinion is clear — these rugs really are worth it! Maybe one day I’ll invest in more hand-tufted rugs, but that won’t be happening anytime soon, at this stage of life. I’m so pleased with how Ruggable’s styles strike the perfect balance between beauty and practicality.
