The other week my cousins and their kiddos came down + my aunt and uncle, during their Mardi Gras break in Louisiana. We had the most incredible week filled with great weather and good family time. Truly so wonderful any time we get to be together! We celebrated two birthdays as well, which was so fun to do together. The boys didn’t love going to school when the cousins were in town, but it ended up being about the same distance our house is from the school, so it didn’t mess up our schedule by staying out here. A true staycation!
We stayed at The Freckled Fin which was just a quick few minute walk from shopping and restaurants off Pine Avenue. We loved the set up of Freckled Fin especially because there is a mother in law suite that’s attached to the house, but also completely separate. So us early risers with kids could wake up early, while my aunt and uncle could sleep in the suite. And no one was disturbed! The pool was heated, and there was even a covered area to sit under with a pool table too. We spent every night out there either swimming, hot tubbing, or just chatting together while we watched the kids play.
One thing I loved about AMI Locals is how cute all of the different houses are decorated! These chairs are adorable, but perfect for families with little sticky hands to deal with.

I fully took advantage of having a bath in this gorgeous tub while I was there! And so did my boys. All of the rooms in Freckled Fin have en suite bathrooms.
I also toured a few other AMI local rentals while on the island. This stunner – Sail Away
with a fire pit, swim up bar, outside shower, game room, and right on the canal… the outdoor space is amazing for a big group!
This property even has a wine room!
and how adorable is this bunk bed situation?!

{beep beep! we love renting from Beach Bums – best service and quietest golf carts on the island}
Last but not least! The adorable Blue Pearl. It used to be the post office – which just makes me smile (: It has arguably one of the prettiest, most serene little backyard. And I love that for much of the day it’s entirely shaded!
