I love libraries. Practically lived at one during college and post grad.
They just redid this one on Boca Grande in the past year and I was a little worried that it wouldn’t be as cool as it used to be. It was like stepping back in time before. With old murals of florida, old everything. You can see more of how it once was here. But it’s even better than before. An outdoor library with an impeccable garden next to the sea? It’s just combining all of my favorite things in one place. The children’s library is the cutest! Even has a little porch with mini rocking chairs and a mini garden. Definitely worth a visit while in Boca Grande. A very nice free thing to do while on the little island.
But speaking of books, I’m happy to say Tuck has come around on them. Liking them much more and even bringing them to me to read.
Here are our favorite’s at the moment:
I can recite this whole book, I love it so much!
I also love how it teaches the alphabet and also tells Tuck how much I adore him at the same time.
2. I pretty much think Nancy Tillman takes the cake for books. Something we both enjoy reading – and leave me a bit teary eyed to boot. I only have three of her books but I’ll list them all, because I can’t pick a favorite.
3. thoughts to make your heart sing by sally lloyd jones & jago
I’ve mentioned this before but this is one of my favorite children’s books authors. It’s a bit too old for Tuck so I usually read it to him while he’s playing and sometimes he’ll climb in my lap. But I mostly enjoy reading this one – serves as a mid day devotional for me in a way.
this was given to me by the mother of someone very dear to us who we lost last year.
I can’t make it through without crying ever. but i’m all for showing emotion around here.
this one is so silly and sweet. and true!
