I get asked what sort of gifts I’d pick out for godchildren, somewhat frequently. While I’m not catholic, my kids both have godparents. I believe that the more adults that love your children, the better. Having godparents for my children, I know those people will always be praying and looking out for that child. I’m lucky enough to be a godmother to my precious baby Ximena. I’m always praying for her and her future, and I can’t help but spoil her too. The best thing you can give your godchild is your time, prayers, and love… But gifts are a fun bonus too. Sometimes people say that they bet I wish I had a girl to buy for, but honestly I feel like I already do. Here are some gift ideas to give god daughters, whether it’s for their dedication, baptism, christening… or just because you can’t help yourself.
- You know I love these Beaufort Bonnet night nights. I love monogramming their little bottoms with their names, or when they become big sisters “big sister ximena”. The prayer ones are my favorite.
- Babies first Christmas ornaments. I love getting these when friends have new babies.
- a semi custom crest by juliet grace designs. You could put baptism date or birthdate, or just a sweet monogram.
- Books! I love little golden books about God. Especially this vintage recreation. The Jesus Calling for kids is sweet for toddlers and preschoolers.
- Cd’s: I listen to a lot of kids cds in the car and my kids love them. You can get Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing in a book form or audio. We have both – it’s my favorite! My kids also love their personalized veggie tale cds.
- Silhouettes. I love these from Minted. Get one that matches their room. Sweet to have them done for different times of their life.
- A silver spoon for them (:
- This Holy Cross wall banner is so sweet and you can personalize it.
- A sweet Jewelry box.
- Carolle dolls were my favorite as a child. I love giving them!
- A personalized beach towel.
- Le Papier Studio silhouettes – one for your goddaughter, and one for her momma.
Hope that is helpful to someone (: These would also make great Christmas gifts. I would love to know if you have a fun gift idea for a god daughter?
