Home Renovation goals for the new year

Colonial Home Coastal Southern Living

Just like last year, I wanted to do a “what we want to do with the home” post for this next year.

There are a lot we did indeed get to; like the wallpaper, reupholstery, some updated light fixtures, redid the dock pilings, bricks in the back patio, painted the dining room and living room white dove … and hey, a lot we didn’t get to!  Which is OK!  It’s always good to take a step back, and see all you did do to make a home this year.  I think every new year is a good time to reassess, and see what exactly is first on the list.

And first on the list is remodel the kitchen.  It’s such a big project, due to the bones of the house, and what we are trying to do to bring more light in the room.  I will definitely share more of the process.  I don’t have anything super grand for the space.  What I’m working with is pretty tight quarters.  But, I think the changes we will make will really lighten and brighten the space up.  AND make it more functional!  yay!

Next on the list … finish decorating our playroom.  I think we will have to sell the leather couches as they don’t quite fit the room right now that it’s been remodeled.  And possibly get a sectional couch.

I want to focus on our room, and the boys room.  Honestly the upstairs is not super functional or “finished” feeling, and wouldn’t it be nice to have those as real retreats?!  So that’s something I’m hoping for.

I found it so motivating when I did post my goals for the month here.  So that may be something I bring back, to drill down on particular projects and share what else I’m working on with work, etc.  Honestly a huge goal I have in general for 2022, is to take time to write and share more here!

Cheers to a new year, and new projects that light us up!
