Valentine’s Day is less than a month away and I am so excited! I know some of you might view this as a cheesy Hallmark holiday (and it sort of is), but I still love it! I will take any excuse to celebrate love and let my favorite people know how much they mean to me. I’ve previously shared ways that we celebrate Valentine’s Day in our home. Today I’m excited to expand upon this and share Valentine’s Day gifts for family. I’ve rounded up sweet and thoughtful gift ideas for daughters, sons, moms, and dads. Whether you are looking for a small Valentine’s Day gift for family members or you’re wanting to go all out, I’ve got you covered!
Celebrating Valentine’s Day with Family
Before jumping into my Valentine’s Day gifts for family, I wanted to share a few ways we celebrate this holiday in our home. My entire life, my biggest dream has been to be married with children. Of course, I’ve had other dreams along the way, but for as long as I can remember, this has been my number one wish. I’m so grateful for my husband and sons and I try my hardest to make them feel loved and known. Valentine’s Day is a wonderful excuse to make their lives a little extra special (and for me to add some pops of pink to our home!)
Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Family
As a parent, I love finding small and thoughtful ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my family. These are some of my favorite ideas and Valentine’s traditions we’ve done in our home.
1. Decorate your home with Valentine’s Day decor.
I feel like sometimes Valentine’s Day decor gets forgotten between Christmas and Easter. You don’t have to go all out, but small touches like a Valentine’s Day banner or cute hand towels can bring joy to your home.
2. Make school lunches special.
This is such a fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with kids. Simply add heart napkins or heart-shaped toothpicks with fruit on them for a fun surprise!
3. Set a special Valentine’s Day tablescape.
It doesn’t have to be over the top. Something as simple as adding red roses or pink dishes provides a special touch. I also love printing Valentine’s Day placemats and placecards from my Fernandina Paper Co subscription for our table. If you’re looking for inspiration, check out my blue, white, and red Valentine’s Day tablescape!
4. Do Valentine’s Day crafts as a family.
I’ve always loved making crafts with the boys and Valentine’s Day ones are so sweet. Crafts like this wooden hearts paint kit and this DIY heart frame kit are wonderful. They’re only $5 and require zero prep work!
5. Make Valentine’s Day treats.
A special treat is a perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with family. There are tons of delicious recipes to choose from! Additionally, this heart waffle maker and this heart muffin tin make it easy to turn a favorite recipe into a Valentine’s Day recipe.
6. Read Valentine’s Day books.
I always love reading holiday books with my boys and Valentine’s Day is no exception. I’ve previously shared some of my favorite Valentine’s Day books for kids (scroll to the bottom) and we continue adding to our library as my sons grow older.
7. Gift “little happies” to the ones you love.
I love gifting small, thoughtful gifts (aka “little happies”) on Valentine’s Day to family, girlfriends, or teachers. It’s such an easy way to let someone know they are important to you. Check out some of my favorite “little happies” gift ideas for inspiration!
8. Share one thing you love about your family members daily.
This might be my favorite way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with family. Writing down something you love about family members every day from February 1-14 is such a meaningful tradition. You could do this in a cute way, such as sticking heart-shaped notes on bedroom doors or keep it simple with sticky notes in lunch boxes.
Valentine’s Day Gifts for Daughters
Now that I’ve covered my favorite ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with family, I’m excited to share gift ideas, starting with daughters. Having two sons, I’m not an expert on Valentine’s Day gifts for daughters. Nevertheless, I have come across lots of cute and wonderful gift ideas for girls this year!
I love gifting personalized items, as they always seem to be a little extra special. This heart and name embroidered girls sweatshirt, this Valentine’s Day placemat, and this personalized heart ornament are all sweet options. Be sure to place personalized orders such as these ASAP to ensure they arrive on time! For the creative girl, this $5 heart bead kit and this puffy stationary kit make excellent gifts. And a pair of heart pajamas or a sentimental children’s book always make excellent Valentine’s gifts for daughters.
Valentine’s Day Gifts for Teen Daughters
If you have a teenage daughter, there are some fun Valentine’s options for her as well! I love this bright pink cropped hoodie (truth…I want it for myself!) Some other gift ideas I’d love for myself include this heart sleep mask and these pink wireless earbuds. These adorable heart socks and this personalized straw tote make wonderful Valentine’s Day gifts for teen daughters. And these vegan Valentine’s Day cookies are a sweet treat for anyone on your list!
Valentine’s Day Gifts for Sons
This is a category I’m more familiar with! I’ve rounded up some favorite Valentine’s Day gifts for sons that I’ve purchased over the years as well as some new finds.
For the boy who loves creating, these heart-shaped crayons and this heart-shaped watercolor set are so fun! This “Lover Boy” sweatshirt is absolutely adorable and this personalized heart pillow is so very sweet. And if you’re looking for classroom Valentine’s Day gift ideas, these heart-shaped sunglasses come in a pack of 12 for only $18!
Valentine’s Day Gifts for Mom
If you’re on the hunt for a Valentine’s Day gift for mom (or to share with your husband), look no further! These are some of my favorite gifts at a variety of price points.
For the mom who loves baking, this $10 pink oven mitt set, these Valentine’s Day dish towels and this pink pot holder set are all wonderful. Pair one of these with a beautiful white flower taper candle holder for the perfect gift. These blush pink and blue OnCloud sneakers are on my wish list and they’re selling out fast! Some other pink favorites include these pink Bala weighted bangles (I own and love them), this pink watering can, and these pink wireless earbuds. These Valentine’s Gifts aren’t only great for moms, but also for girlfriends, grandmothers, or teachers.
Valentine’s Day Gifts for Dad
I know sometimes the men on your list can be the hardest to shop for. I typically like to gift JB something small, but thoughtful. For example, this monogrammed golf towel, this personalized wallet, or this wooden picture frame filled with a photograph all make sweet and meaningful gifts for dad.
If he plans to travel soon, I love this green weekender duffel bag and this green canvas shave kit. This Yeti backpack is a useful and extravagant gift for dad. While this portable Bluetooth shower speaker is a really fun and affordable idea! Once again, these Valentine’s Day gifts aren’t just great for dads, but also for boyfriends, teenage sons, or grandfathers.
Valentine’s Day-Themed Clothing
Before wrapping up, I couldn’t resist touching on a few of my favorite Valentine’s Day-themed clothing items this year. These sweet pieces for women are perfect to wear on Valentine’s Day and they also make wonderful gifts for women!
This sage green cardigan is only $35 and features a cute embroidered heart. I’ve been living in this pink and red terry robe since it arrived and these kisses pajamas are equally as comfy (bonus: there’s a matching kids’ set!) The black version of these blush pink pants made my list of top 23 classic staple pieces, so you know they’re good! And these Supima cotton Valentine’s undies and adorable heart earrings are the perfect items to complete any outfit.
