Friday we hosted, together with our partners, The Hunts, Book club dinner. Our book was “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens. We tried to bring it alive with lots of seafood and fun southern touches. With our book club, husbands are included for the dinner, and we rotate partners after we’ve gone through three books. There’s a total of six couples. While I got a few “that doesn’t seem doable!” … I used a lot of things we already had. Moving the clam shell out of the fireplace, to serve drinks. It took some manpower, moving my house around, but we mostly used what we already had in our arsenal. With a few fun personal touches – like the Charleston Cotton napkins, book club koozies from sequins and lipstick, Emily McCarthy low country napkins/cups, and oyster salt and pepper cellars.
